In life, we are often happy to just plod along without really knowing what impact we are having. The same is true in business, where entrepreneurs might simply strive to make ends meet while working on something more they can be passionate about. But this is far from the only way things can be done. These five entrepreneurs have made it their mission not just to create an above-average company but completely flip the world on its head and make it better for everyone.

Jeremy Lamri, 32, France

He is the CEO of Followme, a social media marketing agency. Starting up as an unpaid intern in 2013, Lamri understood from the beginning that he would never have a 9–5 job and that he could be happier working on something with his own hands. When his company was acquired for $4m in 2015 by 360i, he was only 25 years old. That’s not to say it wasn’t hard work getting there, but the mere fact that he did it is already something to be proud of.

Enass Abo-Hamed, 30, Palestine

Abo-Hamed works as a developer at a startup that has developed software that allows startups to manage their expenses and accounts. He has already won more than 20 international awards for his products, but even he is quite surprised by the rapid ascent of his company. “I just want to share my profession with the world,” he says.

Rainier Mallol, 25, Dominican Republic

An engineer, Mallol is the founder of the popular Dominican Republic-based fitness studio, ReelMill. Not only does he manage the day-to-day operations of his business, but he also writes articles for magazines, conducts talks, and speaks at conferences. His goal? To inspire other people to work out regularly.

Kevin Smiley, 27, Canada

Smiley is a serial entrepreneur who has taken a very personal interest in his business’ social impact. He is currently in the process of developing an app that would allow users to donate their spare change from daily purchases to different charities. For example, if you bought a coffee, you could choose the Canadian Cancer Society or UNICEF as your recipients of that small sum of change.

Sabine Sipunova, 24, Latvia

Sipunova is the founder of the social enterprise Energy4All. In 2015, her company developed an innovative heating system called Energy4All, which is based on a thermo-siphon principle. It provides warmth and energy for communities in emerging and developing countries and European territories where conventional sources of energy are unavailable or expensive.

With this list of five awe-inspiring young entrepreneurs, we hope you are inspired to make a change in your life.
